Do You Own A Business Or A Job?

do you own a business or a job?

I know I’ve been talking about this for several years now BUT I make no apologies for this.

I genuinely want the penny to drop with everyone so that they can design a strategy to move from self-employed/job to a true business owner.

Firstly, I need to stress, there’s nothing wrong with having a job.

Nothing at all, and if that’s what you prefer then fair play and best of luck to you.

This article is for those who think they have a business when they don’t.

Those who want to own a business but don’t know where to start and for those who want to change but can’t.

Now…. the litmus test, how do you know if you own a business or a job?

Go on holiday for 3 months and see what happens. If the paperwork mounts up, staff don’t turn in, nothing gets done, invoices pile high, issues don’t get resolved and the business goes backwards then you have a job – oh and you’re not allowed contact with any one from the business at all.

If you go away and everything is running superb, if not better without you. Then congratulations you have a well-run business. How many can HONESTLY say that?? Not many, not many at all.

There’s no point making tons of money if you are integral to the business – the money stops coming in when you stop.

There’s no point in selling loads of houses, if it’s you doing the selling – they stop selling when you stop grafting.

There’s no point in having an 80% conversion rate, if it’s you whose always doing the work.

Now you know if you have a job or a business, we can start planning to transition from one to the other.
